At my internship, I was tasked with making the shop look more like Christmas. I did some brainstorming, consulted my mom, and we came up with a plan. A good portion of our time was spent finding good deals on decorations. With out coupons in hand, we set off and got what we could.
Our goal was to make it feel like the holidays without using the traditional red and green. We decided on a using warm metallics and glitters. We were wanting something that could be left up for a bit without looking tacky. The idea for the tags came from my mom, because what is more perfect for a boutique than gift tags? The most time consuming part was hanging the tags in the windows and untangling lights so that they were evenly spaced.

The next project was dressing an unused mannequin that we had. We originally were going to make a tool skirt and use that, but I was concerned about funds and time. Luckily we were able to find an alternative and it turned out even better than the original idea.

We were able to find a tree skirt that was in the color scheme and were able to use that as her skirt. After finding an unused white button down shirt, creating a bow, and adding the perfect necklace she was finished. It was the perfect tough to put near the register so that the decorations touched almost every part of the store without being over barring.
On top of the racks we created a combination of greenery, sparkles, and ribbon. Topping it off was a hurricane containing a electric candle. It adds just a touch of the traditional Christmas magic.
Over all, the color scheme ties in perfectly with the surrounding decor of the shop. It is a timeless look that can be left up even after the holidays into the fist of the year. With the base purchase made, more can be added each year. I think the first thing to add would be even more tags to the windows to make even more of an impact. I cant wait to see what it looks like next year.
Merry Christmas & Happy Holidays.
