I have been in school, learning, for 17 years. Seven-teen years of my life have been dedicated to learning and broadening my metaphorical horizons. This Saturday, December 15th is the day that my educational career comes to a proverbial close. Granted, this closure is tentative, Grad school might be a potential avenue I travel.

But right now, as I sit here and apply for jobs that I am simultaneously over and under qualified for, I can't help feel the nervousness of excitement and fear. I will soon be going off into the great unknown with no guarantee of the future, and it is honestly terrifying. None of the movies I have watched prepared me for this feeling. I was counting on you Carrie Bradshaw. However, I'm embracing it to its fullest extent.

I know I said that my schooling is closed, but I have noticed that learning itself never stops. As humans, we are always learning. It could be simple things, like pizza should be microwaved for no less than 45 seconds (no one wants crunching cheese). It could be the more complex and out for your grasp, like fully understanding taxes or the stock market. The point is, we NEVER stop learning. I could worry myself sick about the unknown, or i could just accept it in its entirety and learn to love what could and might be.

I'm choosing to love the unknown. Someday the monotony of life might catch up to me, but in this moment I am floating free through the world its terrifyingly wonderful.

So, I have some sage advice for anyone ridiculous enough to listen to a 22 year old. Go and live. Live and make mistakes. You are not the sum of your bad decisions but the lessons that you learned from them. If I can find comfort in the unknown, you can too.

Now, I'm off to find the perfect outfit for this enormous occasion. Wish me luck!
