Whoa, it has been a bit.

I have had a whirlwind couple of weeks and it’s been honestly amazing. I was so fortunate to get the opportunity to go to MAGIC Las Vegas and attend as a guest to help amazing boss pick out items for our Spring line. Overwhelming would be an understatement. Shopping for our girls is tough, because they know exactly what they want but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

The flight to Vegas was a long haul that started at three am in rural Illinois. It was a blur of a day that ended up with both of us chugging Starbucks, in the hopes of our fourth or fifth wind of energy. We went a day early to MAGIC in the hopes of learning what we had officially gotten ourselves into, and thank God, we did. We meandered our way into the showroom during set up, and I don’t know how else to describe other than the shopping Olympics.

Our one night out, It was a thirty minute walk to eat at a restaurant across the street.

It was wall to wall fashion overload. Every trend, fabric, and silhouette was on display. It was like going to the mall of every shoppers dream (and I have been to the Mall of America). Not to mention, some booths were giving out free mimosas, and who doesn’t love a good mimosa? With Black Friday like crowds, sans the stereotypical angry soccer moms, we began the process of weaving our way through the three-room conventions center.

As a marathon shopper, I am embarrassed to say that we didn’t even make it through every room on our first official shopping day. We made it through like half in what was probably a minimum of nine hours. We found some good pieces, and I am proud to say that we paced ourselves. That was our biggest worry, getting too ahead of ourselves and buying WAY more than we needed to.

Our biggest score of the whole trip was finding a gorg jewelry line. It is simply stunning. For the longest time my boss had to rely in stock images to find pieces, and you can work a LOT of magic with minimal Photoshop knowledge. I would know, trust me.

One of Pantone's color of the year. Who doesn't love burgundy?

On our last day, we finalized purchases, made some big girl decisions, ate waaaay too much food, and slept like a rock. The time it took was insane and we only went to one of the numerous sections in two different convention centers.

One of the most gorgeous walkways into a restaurant I have ever seen.

It was an amazing experience and one that I will cherish forever. I never would have believed the amount of product that you can choose from. Vegas is not for the faint of heart. It takes planning, guts, and a stellar side kick to help keep moral up. I’m so glad we could make it through this adventure together.

Until next time!
